Description: This is a very nice First World War German 1914 Iron Cross 2nd Class on ribbon that is in excellent condition. The cross is with a clean, stove black, magnetic iron core mounted on a nicely age toned silver frame and with a raised, well-defined serrated bead border. The detail to the crown, ‘W’ monogram, and 1914 date is sharp and well-defined. The ring is incised with the maker’s mark of ‘K.A.G.’ for the maker Franz Kuhmayer AG. It remains a nice, marked example of the classic German decoration for combat heroism. 8951
