A complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended.***********This women's vintage 1970's Sheffield Allsport, which came from the estate of its original owner, has a glossy black "T SWISS MADE M1" dial that is in lovely condition aside from the dust/debris lying on its surface. The lume, which remains fully intact and emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue. The black fat font bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents nicely. The chrome-plated case shows honest wear and brassing. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "STAINLESS STEEL BACK - SHOCKRESISTANT - WATERPROOF" with "GUARANTEED 5 ATM. TESTED - SWISS MADE" stamped along the inner edge. The inside of the case back is stamped "SHEFFIELD WATCH INC." followed by "SWISS" and "M." The crystal shows scratching and dust/debris on its underbelly. The 1 jewel unadjusted Swiss "SHEFFIELD WATCH INC" manual wind movement runs strong, albeit slow, and the date wheel rolls over as it should. This movement does not have a semi-quickset date function. After recently winding the brassed, non-screwdown crown 37 full revolutions the movement lost about 7 minutes by the end of its approximate 37 hour power reserve period. The crown winds smoothly. A complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 30 mm excluding the crown, approximately 33 mm including the crown and approximately 15 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm. The lug to lug distance measures approximately 37 mm. The black 16 mm (shrunk to 15 mm) genuine TROPIC strap with signature "ACIER" stamped flared buckle is a bit stiff but still pliable. As clearly seen in the pictures it's missing its keeper and has multiple cracks. A complete overhaul is recommended.
