Description: Archive / Collection of Manuscripts & Letters Relating to William T. McKinnon (Law, Politics, Inventions and Literature). Washington, DC, 1944+Collection of manuscript materials by and about William T. McKinnon. Includes his USC Master's Thesis (unpublished) "Life and Work of Lafcadio Hearn" (1926) and his Master's Thesis (American University) "Two Foes of Democracy and Their Effects on the Life of the Individual" (1950). Also some fifteen pieces of ephemera from his USC days including transcripts. Twenty originals and three carbons. Born 1904, McKinnon s=earned a BA and masters at the University of South Carolina (George Washington University) PhD in Zoology, a LLB, and advanced studies in Public Administration. Many of these letters are responses he received about ideas he submitted to army while some are from attorneys or judges (speeches, etc.), while one is from civil defense explaining proposed identification tags. Six are from South Carolinian officials (highway, education). Three relate to patents. One item is a two page attach on South Carolina's poll tax.
