Description: Up for sale is a white shantap, having a bluish tint as these are traditionally colored for lay practitioners. These are brand new, though I did give them a quick wash since I had them stored for a few years in a box. They are in excellent condition, a heavy material made of a 60/40 cotton, polyester blend. Made in Nepal, these are virtually impossible to acquire nowadays. They measure approximately 39” from waist to hem, the waist measuring 72”. The shantap is a skirt worn by both men and women during meditation. It is basically a loop of fabric one steps into, pulls up to the waist, and then cinches around the waist with a belt or cord. It would be suitable for anyone who would like to wear traditional Tibetan clothing while meditating, being very comfortable and allows one to sit easily.
