Description: Waltham No. 1 Model 1883 Coin Silver 18 Size Open Face Pocket Watch ca. 1903. This antique Waltham grade No. 1, model 1883, 7 jewel, 18 size, open face pocket watch has a large coin silver measuring approximately 57mm in diameter x 3 1/4 inches long including bow. 165.2 grams total weight. The case back is engraved with a filigree plaque. The case has dents and a patina throughout, as pictured. The front, back and dust cover hinges all open, close and secure properly. The white enamel dial has both Arabic numeral and Roman numeral hour markers in black, blue light spade hands, a single sunk seconds register at six and is marked "Am. Watch Co. Waltham". The dial has a very light hairline from the register to seven, and is in otherwise great condition. The thick glass crystal has a very small chip near five and light surface wear throughout. The inside case is stamped "A.W.C.CO. - Coin - 72490". The inside dust cover is stamped "24 90 3". The gilt movement is stamped "American Waltham Watch Co. - Safety Pinion - 12607024". All screws and jewels appear to be in good condition. Stem wind and set. This watch is running approximately 2 - 3 minutes slow per 24 hours. No guarantee of future performance.
