Dayton, it has a copyright date of 1854 but a publication date of 1860. The book is in used and worn condition, with several hinge cracks (including at both end papers) and the back free end paper missing, which has left quite a bit of play in the binding. Plus some stains and fading and edge wear on the cover, and some foxing and general soiling and edge wear to the pages, including some torn and chipped pages, but no actual loss of text. Also, some lengthy inscriptions on both end papers and the back of the frontispiece, apparently written by a Luke O'Reilly, of Waterbury, Connecticut.
