Description: Vintage sundial Tempus fugit Time flies scorpion local time solar garden clock. Made in 1983 This vintage sun dial with a sentiment will show you an approximate time and add a nice nostalgic touch to your garden. It is octagon shaped with Roman numerals, it has a gadrooned edge and the middle is decorated with an image of rising sun and a scorpion figurine which also works as a time-telling blade. The sentiment says in Latin: “Tempus Fugit” (Time flies). This sundial is made of magnetic metal iron and is pretty heavy (it weights about 2lbs 4oz). The sundial is about 8" across widest points. It is marked on the bottom with a company logo (Virginia Metalcrafters) and numbers 23–3. Place it in a sunny spot of your garden with a blade pointing North (in the Northern hemisphere the 12 o’clock hour faces to the north). As the sun moves (Earth turns) the shadow is cast on the sundial will give you the approximate time a day. A great decoration for a garden, lovely as a gift or use it for yourself.
