Description: This is a vintage, Mid 20th Century Carved Chinese Chess Set. Made of Soapstone and Serpentine Jade. Tile inlay with wood surround featuring carved dragons and phoenixes. When closed, attention to detail shows a brick pattern on three sides (not bottom). Brass hinges and handle. A drawer slides out on each side to house the chess figures; drawers are lined in a red material with elastic to keep the figures-elastic needs replaced. Condition: Wear to figures. Scratches outside of wooden box. Wooden corners are separating a little next to the chess board. Elastic holding figures is very loose.
