Description: This beautiful and simple set of brass scales is probably a souvenir from Greece. Each of the two bowls has an engraving: one has the Parthenon, the other looks like an ancient Greek warrior. The base has a floral design. There is a certain amount of what looks like verdigris. The stand measures 16 inches tall, and from the outside edge of one bowl to the other is 14 inches. It hangs level and can probably be used to do actual measuring of weights (not suitable for legal use, but imagine the fun kids could have with this in a classroom).
