Description: For sale is a vintage 3rd class touch relic cloth.This item measures approx. 1 1/2" wide by 5 1/2" high andis made up of pink paper on the back with a white ribbonand a picture of Mary (& possibly Bernadette from Lourdes)on the front. Also, the tiny cloth relic is on the front too. There is a strip of plastic covering and protecting the ribbon, picture, and relic cloth. This item is vintage and has age and wear. On the top of thepink paper, there is a hole probably from a tack, and also thereis a rip in the paper. This item looks as though it has been handled a lot and is in somewhat delicate condition. First and 2nd class relics are rare, are considered sacred, and are usually found in churches. First class relics are actually from the body of the saint like a strand of hair.Second class relics are something the saint owned like a Bible or a piece of clothing. 3rd class are just "touch" relics. They are pieces of cloth that have been touched to a1st or 2nd class relic and then cut up into tiny pieces and put into medals, holders, etc... It may have been a piece of cloth that was touched to the saint, touched their tomb, or touched to anything they owned or wore. I only sell 3rd class relics which I have bought over the years at various sales, and for themost part, I have no history of the items.
