Description: From a personal family collection, this is an awesome mid-century 1950's (or possibly earlier) Comedy mask. This was on the wall of a family member all the way back to the mid 1950's, so it is verified vintage from personal knowledge. The mask measures approximately 8 1/2 inches from top to bottom and approximately 5 inches across at the widest point. I think it is made of chalkware, although not 100% positive about that. It seems to be some type of chalkware or plaster type of material. The mask features gilt gold accents around the mouth, eyes, and the top. Really cool! It is in excellent condition, no cracks. For a vintage piece it is in really great condition. It needs a bit of mild cleaning, nothing major. I didn't want to possibly cause any damage to the surface, so I will leave that minor cleaning to you. It has been carefully stored in a box for many years. It is designed to be used as a piece of wall art. This piece was acquired by a family member in Los Angeles, California, so it may have been manufactured in that particular region of the country. I have taken photos of the front, back and various angles. The mask doesn't indicate any manufacturing information, so unfortunately I don't have that specific data.
