Description: This listing is for a pair of carved ironwood eagles. The wood is beautifully textured with a natural rough base and gorgeous grain on a smooth coat. One measures 11”high x a wingspan of 11.75” x 5.75” depth. The other measures 10.9” high x 11.25 wingspan x 5.75” depth. Both are gently used with no observable chips, cracks, breaks or repairs. Mexican ironwood carvings are made in the states of Sonora and Baja California from the tree known in the area as palo fierro. The craft was originally developed by the Seris, an indigenous group of the Sonora State. Take a look at the photos as they tell so much more than we can articulate; and zoom in for a closer look at any and all condition issues.
