Description: Pack is in good condition for its age. There are some marks and spot stains but generally little sign of heavy use ( i.e. no holes, heavy abrasions). The large and vintage YKK zippers work. The biggest issue is the coating material added to the inside of the pack and on the seams for water-resistance has browned and is flaking. I'm not an expert on Lowe Alpine Systems but they were a start-up outdoor brand that invented revolutionary gear such as the internal frame pack. Based on the logo style and location in Lafayette Colorado on the tag this would have been one of their early production packs. It reminds me of a travel pack, which makes me think it could be one of the early versions of the Kinnikinnick travel backpacks, although that is just a guess. It doesn't have a side handle which is typical for travel packs. It also doesn't have the fold down top flap like the more common and well known Expedition pack either. Either way it's a unique and rare pack with historical significance for its contribution to the design of modern backpacking packs - and it still looks great !
