Description: This is a classic Lodge No 8 cast iron skillet with markers mark "E" from the 1920s. The cooking surface has light utensil scores and is etched from corrosion. The surface is not glass smooth, but much smoother to the touch than a modern lodge pan. Four sheets of printer paper slipped under one edge stops movement on a granite surface. No chips, cracks or repairs and does not spin. Test for flatness of pan. With the pan resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim of the pan searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the pan until the pan stops moving. This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal of all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. The item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hour. This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, items may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light.
