Description: Mid 20th century figurine by German manufacturer Lippelsdorf. Previously the company operated as Wagner & Apel but, after the War, the socialists nationalized the company renaming it Lippelsdorf after the town in which its located. It continued to operate as such until the German reunification and in 1990 it was again privatized and renamed Wagner & Apel. This figurine is from an old Wagner & Apel mold and still caries all the detailing so characteristic of German porcelain. Measures about 6" tall by 6" wide (base is 4 3/4" x 2 1/4")
