Description: So, here we have a super authentic Levin LT-20. It sounds authentic, looks authentic, feels authentic…. man I bet it would even taste authentic! Of course I can’t and won’t verify that, like with credit - please don’t ask as 'refusal often offends!’ ;) (editors note - don't give up your day job, stick to luthier work!) Anyhow - very poor humour aside - this is a fine piece for any Levin collection, or those of us looking for something a bit different in the classical line. In excellent all original condition and above average condition with no cracks and no apparent repairs. With the solid flamed maple body and Levins reliable build quality it is a superb guitar Nitro-finished, so there is some lovely checking and patina throughout as seen on all Levins and Martins of this era. The build-stock Levin had at the time was probably the best in the world, which is why Martin bought them out, kept the woods and closed the factory! Not joking here. So we can understand that the best materials were used: - Brazilian rosewood fretboard and bridge - Solid spruce top - Solid maple back and sides The solid flamed-maple back and sides making for a rich, deep and enchanting tone with the fast response that maple yields, the tone being fairly dark and nicely balanced. It follows the classical form being a ‘Grand Concert’ model - Production year 1965 as verified with the serial number on the headstock - These had a ten year warranty as with any of the higher quality guitars they made - lightly braced (fan bracing) - As with most guitars over half century the saddle is low yet the ation is very respectable for a 60 year old classical, 3.75mm low E, 3.5mm high E @ 12th fret. - Frets are in good order, good and shiny and at about 70% height - Working surface of the neck is great, fast and smooth, nice easy C profile too - Fretboard has a high, yet not excessively high, level of wear at first position, not affecting use, we leave this character as it should be there, however it is no problem to restore this as per buyers preference Supplied with a light restore and full setup player ready right out of the case. The original European hard case is included, professionally packaged for international travel Enjoy! From the Levin website….
