VINTAGE KEILWERTH TONEKING SERIES IV STENCIL ALTO SAXOPHONE

Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list!This listing is for a vintage "La Sete" brand alto saxophone. It is a stencil of a Keilwerth Toneking (series IV). It is stamped "Made in Germany" on the back of the body. The serial number is 65,xxx. I believe it dates to the late 1960's. Since this is a later one, it does not have rolled tone holes. This horn is being sold as is. It is not currently in playing condition due to degraded pads. It will require a full overhaul. It is well worn, but certainly not beyond repair. Please read on for details of its condition. The body looks straight. The neck has not been pulled down. There are no major dents, but there are a handful of small pings and nicks. These are mostly on the bow. The bow guard has not been pushed in. The rim of the bell is not bent. I don't see any resoldered joints. The pants guard is missing along with the posts that it would screw onto. The keys are moving freely and rebounding quickly, except for the octave key, which is a bit sluggish. The nickel finish on the keys has dulled significantly, but it should polish up nicely if you so desired. The rollers are all turning. The lacquer shows moderate wear and scratching throughout. The pads are old. They appear dried out and stained. This horn does not come in a case. There is no mouthpiece, nor any other accessories included. Please feel free to message me with any questions!
