Description: This close contact saddle has been turned into a work of art, a lovely showpiece or décor piece for your equestrian home. The maker of this saddle is A. Pariani Selleria, an Italian saddle maker that was founded in Milan in 1903 and to this day they still hand make all of their saddles from start to finish. Pariani claims the first to introduce the spring tree, although Stubben in Germany contests this adamantly. A lovely tribute to champions everywhere, the prose painted on the flaps read” Parted the way to victory, where you’ll meet me in the winner’s circle, where I’ll put a blanket of flowers on your back.” and “You are a great champion when you ran, the ground shook, the sky opened, and mere mortals parted.” The seat of the saddle shows hand-painted purple roses and the suede flaps have been dyed purple as well. This saddle is still fully functional with short billets and a flocked schooling panel for the leg; narrow twist with a wider seat, very narrow tree with a wool flocked panel and size 16” seat. A unique piece, c1960s.
