Description: This listing is for a vintage painting on material (appears to be silk) from Asia—we are unable to verify if this is from Japan or China and the original owner’s daughter could not remember its origin or exact age (it was amongst a mix of antiques and early vintage items). You can see the individuals stroked of the paint and lines drawn! Size: Frame - 13”x15” Painting - 8.5”x12” (including narrow maroon border) Unsure if it has glass or acrylic on the front. Ready to be hung! We have wiped it down gently, but you could deep clean it if you have the right tools and method. This is a lovely framed piece of a blue bird on a a flowering branch. These do not look like stereotypical cherry blossoms, but there are many different breeds so it could be or it could be a Magnolia or other flowering tree found in Asia. The picture is beautiful and has been signed and stamped with a red stamp, though the stamp is a bit faded to make out. This has been in storage for some time and the original owner is now in her 90s. The frame itself is somewhat “newer” (likely reframed in the between 1970 to now) with a gold brushed frame and mat in the back. The painting itself is has been bordered by what looks like delicately textured silk fabric (see images). Overall, the painting itself is in good shape with age-appropriate wear. We did notice a few gray spots and are unable to tell if it’s on the underside of the glass or on the fabric itself—please review images. We cannot guarantee it isn’t on the fabric, given its age.
