Description: I have here an old Charles Parker Co. Bench Vise, Model No. 955, in very good condition for its age. It has 5” jaws, is approximately 21” in length when fully closed and weighs around 85lbs. Parker vises are no longer made and are well known as one of the best quality and precision vise making companies even to this date. It’s sad to think solid vises like this will no longer be produced and easy to get because of where manufacturing is heading. This vise is in remarkably good condition considering most vises of this size were used hard and often in many shops. This one has the normal dents and dings and a few random stamp marks that I see on many old tools such at this, but it seems to add more character than appear to be damage. The vise had a few layers of nasty paint on it when I received it so it has been stripped, cleaned and oiled. No cracks, brakes or slop was detected. Vise would be a great user for another 50+ years for any shop or hobby garage. As these become harder to find, some may even want to shelf them and use them as a conversation piece but I’d like to give someone else to opportunity to do so. The vise has been in a dehumidified room on a shelf so it will need grease/oil before use. Thank you for viewing and have a wonderful day. Don’t hesitate to message me with any questions about the vise. Will ship to the lower 48 and Canada.
