Description: Vintage ASPEN Les Paul Custom Electric Guitar WITH BIGSBY - Black - MIJ Probably dates from the mid 70's to the mid 80s. I don't remember seeing an Aspen with "Les Paul Custom" engraved on the truss rod cover. Item looks to have been modified from stock with speed knobs? a thick plastic "skull" pickguard, humbucking pickups (but no names or brands on the back) and a Bigsby (b7...I think. Sorry, I'm not an expert about such things). Looks like it has a new set of 11-46 strings on there but the action is pretty high (from about the 5th fret upwards)...maybe the bigsby wasn't the best choice for this guitar, IDK, but it looks like the previous owner tried to compensate by not fully securing the neck flush down to the body with the neck screws (see pics). All of the controls work, but the controls are a little "sensitive". It's a cool guitar for someone who has more guitar repair/care skills than I can offer. Weighs 8lbs 12oz. As with any guitar, I recommend that you give it a day to get acclimated to its new humidity and temperature before you slap your strings of choice and give it a good set-up. #7345
