VINTAGE A. FONTAINE COUESNON WOOD Bb SOPRANO CLARINET

Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list!This listing is for a vintage "A. Fontaine Couesnon" (Paris) Bb soprano clarinet. The serial number is 7453. I'm not sure of its age, but if I had to guess I'd say most like it is from the 1950's or 60's. It is made of grenadilla wood.This instrument is being sold as is for repair/restoration. It is not currently in playing condition. It will require an overhaul to be made playable. It is in excellent physical condition. I don't see any cracks in the wood, nor any signs of past crack repairs. There are no chips to the tenons or tone holes. There are some minor gouges and scratches to the wood body, but nothing significant. All of the rings are tight. The keys are all moving and rebounding freely. The nickel finish shows minor wear and has dulled with age but should polish back to a nice luster. The pads are a mix of cork and traditional skin pads. The cork pads don't look all that bad, but it is probably best to just install all new pads. The pad for the register key has fallen out, rendering it non-playable at the moment.This instrument comes in what I presume to be its original case. The case is in good condition. It has an attractive exterior covering that is in great shape, and there is no loose or missing trim. The interior is a bit more worn, with some slightly loose blocking. There is no mouthpiece, ligature, cap, nor any other accessories included. Please feel free to message me with any questions. Thanks again for looking!
