Description: Vintage 20th Century Engraving Hand Colored Mid Century Signed KARL WINKEL Munich City Hall Germany Framed. Artist Karl Winkel is famous for creating incredible engravings & etchings during the post-war era. This lovely engraving lithograph displays the downtown scenic architecture of Germany at Munich-City Hall. Dated around 1946 immediately following WWII, it is very nicely hand colored on heavy light brown paper. Signed in pencil (Karl Winkel), on bottom right, and bottom left (Munchen Rathaus) Munich City Hall. The decorative gold metal frame has a tied ribbon on back for wall-hanging, as well as an easel stand for tabletop display. Also, back is lined with soft Burgandy velvet in great shape to be almost 80 years old. A printed label reads, GUARANTEED NOT TO TARNISH, exceptional quality. This is a very fine piece, well cared-for. This engraving makes a perfect addition to any art collection. **Dimensions (approx.): 14" L x 11" W x 1/2" Depth Estate sale find from an incredibly beautiful home of retired business executive that traveled extensively, filling his home with wonderful finds & treasures.
