Vintage 1940/50's Milber All SS Watch w/Explorer-Style Dial FOR PARTS/REPAIR

While this watch was originally marketed as a man's watch today an approximate 30 mm mid-case would at best be considered unisex.***********This vintage 1940/50's Milber, which came from the estate of its original owner, has a lovely Explorer-style black "SWISS" only signed dial and the original lume, which no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. Majority of the imperfections seen are on the damaged crystal, not the dial. The all stainless steel lugholes case shows honest wear and minor signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "WATERPROTECTED | INCABLOC | ALL STEEL | SWISS | ANTIMAGNETIC" with the personal inscription "TO MARV" followed by "11-6-52" stamped in the center and "GR 5305" stamped along the inner edge. The inside of the case back is stamped "BERMAN WATCH Co" followed by "SWISS." The crystal needs to be replaced. The 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss "BERMAN WATCH Co." stamped manual wind movement is fully wound and does not run. At a minimum it's likely the mainspring needs to be replaced. While the time can be set without issue the non-screwdown crown cannot be wound. A complete overhaul is required. This midsize watch, which was marketed as a man's watch when originally sold but would at best be considered unisex today, measures approximately 30 mm excluding the crown, approximately 32.5 mm including the crown and approximately 16 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the fixed bezel, is approximately 6.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 9 mm. This watch comes on what may be its original "GLEN" stamped stretch bracelet. A complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now.
