This early originally gas pendant light has one of the finest and most extraordinarily detailed heavy acid etched glass shades that I have ever personally seen - check out that elaborate design and still retains a lot of the original color flashing !!! It has been electrified at some point in its past and is ready for your high ceiling parlor installation today, however, should probably be rewired to modern electrical code standards before use. This pendant light will hang about 36 inches from the ceiling if mounted un-modified as it is right now, I believe the upper tube could be cut to shorten the actual hanging distance if desired. Its an absolutely beautiful and stunning piece of decadent Art Nouveau lighting that will add a touch of elegance to any room if you have the high ceilings. With the fine brass construction, it's a testament to the craftsmanship of the pre-1890s era. I have tested it as-is right now and no real concerns for safety, solid overall tubular brass construction, the socket and pull chain also solid brass, super nice condition really, some wear in places to etched surface, great looking warm orange brassy patina, absolutely a beautiful STUNNER STATEMENT piece and you won't find another this elaborate !!! The heavy glass tubular cylinder shade does have a chip on the extreme edge but is 100% hidden when the fancy ribbed brass rings are in place - please see all photos. It will be unscrewed at the upper arm tubular junction just to keep shipping cost more reasonable, it will assemble back together very easily and no tools will be required.
