Very RARE 1925 Catchy Flyer for Chicago's Wood Theatre & Ted Snyder's Song Shop

Description: An incredibly well-preserved 1925 flyer featuring two of Chicago's downtown past landmark business - the Woods Theatre and Ted Snyder's Song & Cameo Record Shop, aka Snyder's Song Shop. A clever attention getting "WANTED" poster advertising what I believe is a play hosted by the Woods Theatre - If You See That Gal of Mine Send Her Home. Ted Snyder was well known in the music industry as a composer, lyricist and music publisher. He recorded the likes of Duke Ellington and the Beatles. His compositions have been featured in more than 20 films. In addition, he opened the above record store in Chicago during the 1920s. In 1925 he was partnered with Irving Berlin and Henry Waterson to form the Waterson, Berlin & Snyder firm. There is sheet music with the title, "If You See That Gal of Mine Send Her Home" and was published by this trio. So, it can be assumed this flyer was to promote the song and likely a mystery/detective themed play at the Woods Theatre. However, I can't confirm if the Woods ever hosted a play with this title as not all plays/performances at the Woods were historically recorded. But, during the period, Snyder was actively trying to get his works into Broadway so it would make sense to test the play in another theatre. The sheet music for this is rather scarce so it's safe to assume it wasn't "THE BIG SONG HIT" as advertised. Regardless of the popularity of the song/play, this is a very rare flyer from the Snyder Song Shop and not much historical paper ephemera exists for the Woods Theatre. So, a great opportunity to own something from two of downtown Chicago's musical and theatrical historical landmarks. Plus, it's a very eye-catching neat piece. Excellent condition, museum worthy - may have browned a little from age. It was produced on newspaper like material so it's even more impressive how well-preserved it is. Approximately 9" x 6"
