Description: Original 19th century Japanese woodblock print depicting actors Kawarazaki Gonjūrō and Onoe Kakunosuke performing the play, "Sumidagawa ukiyo no kagami" at the Nakamura Theatre, Edo. This is the right sheet of a kabuki triptych. Date seal: boar 7 (亥七) (= c. 7/1863); carver seal: Katada hori Chō (= Katada Chōjirō); publisher Yamamotoya Heikichi. Print measures 14.75 x 9 inches. Good condition overall with some minor creasing along the right edge and the corners, but no tears, holes, stains, etc. Bright colors and displays very nicely.
