Description: Condition - used, made in 80s or 70s Length - 285 mm Width. - 83 mm Blade Width - 65 mm Sub-Blae width (working width) - 56 mm Engraving - 登録 ?壷 龍 八 謹製 (stamp) Steel - Swedish Steel (The engraving on the back "スエーデン鋼" indicates so.) Manufacture - unknown The hole of woodblock - Originally, it was a tsutsumi, but the original owner seems to have widened the hole. NOTE: there is one crack line on the side of main blade. That was caused by aging, it won't break the blade and harm your using. (check the photos and video) A woodblock hand plane made with Swedish steel has become very scarce. If you are looking for a good one, this one is for you. Judging from the condition when I got this, the original owner tried to set up this plane, but it seems that he gave it up and had stored it for decades until now. So this plane has barely used, but there are dents on the top part of blade and the woodblock was a bit dried. I wiped surfaces of the block with linseed oil. I basically set up the sole of the block and sharpen the edge. You can use this after you give it some works. (You might want to adjust the sole and sharpening angle, and grind off both the corner of the main blade, because it should fit to the width of subblade.)
