(5 1/4" x 8"; 20 pages) A magazine devoted to having each freight car in the United States do its part in expeditiously and economically moving the vast tonnage handled by the railroads of the country. Printed on front cover is "No car should be built with a bottom which is incapable of dumping a dumpable load, or which is incapable of carrying more than one class of freight". The magazine is devoted to the superior General Service Car for the transport of coal. There is a letter from the editor to Coal Mine Operators and Coal Dealers urging them to write a letter to Wm. G. McAdoo, Director General of the Railways, Washington D.C., stressing to him the necessity of making the General Service Car the standard in the industry. Crandell states that the government is preparing to buy a large number of coal cars and is considering purchasing hopper cars and gondola cars, and he describes the limitations and problems with unloading when using these cars, and the reasons why these cars cause railroads, shippers and consignees loss of money and time. Crandall gives details of the General Service Car's hinged doors on the floor for easy unloading, greatly minimizing the expense, time and labor required with other cars. He also, names many other money and time saving advantages of the General Service Car. Very interesting. **CONDITION** - Excellent. 4.) Railways and Public Opinion. Eleven Decades. By P.
