Description: Urine Diverter for Composting Toilet. Urine Separator: Separates urine from solid waste This item sits on the edge of a 5 gallon bucket. It separates and drains urine into a container placed outside of the bucket. Note that this listing includes ONLY the urine diverter and 2 feet of 1/2" ID tubing. You will need to purchase a standard 5 gallon bucket, collection container, and garbage bags separately. You will also need a toilet seat supported by a frame or structure that sits above the 5 gallon bucket. (see the example in the last 3 pictures). For use in a composting toilet setup, first drill a 3/4" hole through the 5 gallon bucket centered 3-3/4" below the rim. If desired, line the inside of the bucket with a garbage bag and create a hole for the funnel end to drain through. Carefully thread the funnel end of the diverter through the hole in the bucket. Attach the tubing to the funnel end of the diverter and place the end into a lower collection container. Note that this diverter does NOT work with camp toilet seats that snap onto a 5 gallon bucket. It is necessary to have a separate structure to support the toilet seat. (not included) **Note that standard 1 gallon milk/water jugs are slightly too tall to use with this setup for collection. A shorter collection container may be used.
