Description: This is a very unusual antique candy container in the form of a seal. It is painted paper mache with glass eyes and a heart shaped wood base. The head comes off to reveal a hollow body where the candy would have been stored. I believe the seal to be of French manufacture. There is a sticker on the base for “J. Negre Grasse, Seccursale A Cannes”. It probably dates to about 1920. The seal is 10 inches tall and 6 inches wide. It is in good condition with just a little bit of wear to the paint.
