Description: the STRANGLERS and Friends- Live In Concert - CD - Live From the liner notes: ‘When this live concert was recorded in the spring of 1980 Stranglers vocalist/guitarist Hugh Cornwell was a guest at Pentenville prison, following a conviction for possession of drugs, just one of the many controversial incidents that have played such a big part in the 20 year career of the band, but hey, isn’t controversy an integral part of what good rock ‘n’ roll is all about? And how many great artists have ever been controversial at some point or other in their career? … with Cornwell in gaol the remaining members performed the songs on this release with the help of friends like Hazel O’Connor, but no sooner had Cornwell been released. Then the whole band ended up in a French police cell for allegedly inciting a riot at a canceled concert at Nice University…. Despite never having been darlings of the critics, ( or local counselors!) the stranglers were definitely loved by the people who mattered the most – the record buyers in concert goers. So… If it’s nice and safe music, you want then go and buy one of those “now that’s what I call a Cash in volume 94” compilations…’ This cd is in great condition, though the case has some wear and tear, no cracks just a couple minor scratches Ships quickly
