His findings are still considered significant within cryptozoological studies, though we are still left with many questions about whether the marozi is a distinct species or not. The Spotted Lion was published in 1937. Kenneth Gandar Dower was killed in 1944 when the ship he was traveling on was torpedoed by a Japanese submarine, leaving behind the fascinating legacy of this mystery feline.
