Fred T. Fuge (1872-1968), born at Moretons Harbor, a small fishing village on the northeast coast of Newfoundland; died at Fostoria, OH. He went to sea as a young man, and two narrow escapes from death during this time period led him to dedicate his life to God. He started working with the Salvation Army, afterwards studying at God’s Bible School in Cincinnati. Sometime in the first decade of the 20th century he moved to Fostoria, OH, and started a mission church that became the Independent Holiness Church, located at Liberty and Union Streets. After that he became a missionary to the Zulu, and for twenty years lived in Africa. Upon return to Fostoria he became the pastor of the Nazarene church in that town. - from Krupp, et al, Fostoria, Ohio, Volume 2.
