This auction is for one CGC graded magazine, sent for grading in early October 2021 and received back in November 2022(That`s THIRTEEN months, man!). Terror Tales Volume 2 Number 5 published by Eerie Publications from September 1970 in 7.5 VF- with Off White pages. At the time of this listing the CGC has only graded five copies higher than this one, making it the sixth best graded copy in the CGC census. The 53rd Edition Overstreet would place the graded value of this book in 7.5 at $29.00, and (even though I know we are not buying slabs... we are buying magazines) the CGC grading and encapsulating along with their shipping and handling fees would run you over forty bucks(magazines cost more...). Total expenses on this one ran me $49.00. I have set the price at 300% of graded guide value plus forty-nine dollars for the CGC grading, which, along with the eighteen dollars in shipping is, in my opinion, quite reasonable. Compare it to what other sellers are asking. This is a CGC certified grade, so you know what you`re getting. I may have a different opinion of the grade of a book than the CGC, but they ARE the recognized grading standard these days, and these differences usually are on older books. No returns on CGC graded books. They are what they are. The plastic case is the newer style that the CGC used through the end of 2022, and it is in excellent shape with no noteworthy defects. This book will ship securely packaged in a box, NOT AN ENVELOPE. It will be individually bagged, but you will most likely want to put a new bag on it, since the one it is now in is for protection, not looks, and it may show wear. It ships fully insured, so a SIGNATURE MAY BE REQUIRED. IMPORTANT NOTE ON SHIPPING: This CGC graded book will ship Priority(UNLESS your zip code begins with a 7, 8, or 9, in which case it will likely ship PARCEL POST.) for a total shipping cost of $18.00. If it ends up costing less than $18.00 by more than a full dollar, then I will send a partial refund to make sure you are only paying actual shipping costs. Although I do offer combined shipping, I will not combine shipping for COMIC BOOK AUCTIONS or with shipping for MELMAC AUCTIONS. CGC Books ship Priority(unless ZIP CODE...). Raw books ship MEDIA MAIL, which is the most economical way to ship these, so that is how they will likely ship, with tracking included. While this method is the cheapest it is also the slowest. Items COULD take ten days or so to arrive. Melmac ships at the Parcel Postage rate, unless Priority is the same cost(which it sometimes is...). COMBINED SHIPPING FOR CGC BOOKS: Pay full amount of shipping on each auction won. Discounts for combined shipping will be handled as a REFUND to give back over-payment to reflect actual shipping costs. Additional shipping will not exceed more than half of full shipping amount for each additional item. ABSOLUTELY NO LOCAL PICK-UP. Please do not ask if item can be picked up locally. It can not.
