Description: Incredible group of Tennessee Williams memorabilia related to his greatest work, "A Streetcar Named Desire". Highlighted by 2 very unique handwritten checks from Tennessee Williams. One is dated December 2, 1947, which is the day before the Broadway premiere of A Streetcar Named Desire. This was the launching point for Williams to become a major star, and still remains his most popular work. The other check is another remarkable piece, being addressed to his lover Pancho Rodriguez, who was the main inspiration for the main character of the play, Stanley Kowalski, which was the role that launched Marlon Brando to fame. That check is also signed on the back by Pancho Rodriguez. The lot also includes an original Streetcar playbill with the Marlon Brando cast. Also included are 2 trinkets from Mark Cross, the merchant who the December 2nd check is written to. Also includes a 1999 FDC collectible envelope. Both checks have been authenticated by PSA DNA.
