Description: This is a ONE OF A KIND HANDMADE miniature Sparrow Post Christmas card wishing a "Merry Christmas" from "the Shakespeares". 1.5" x 1.25" The Shakespeares were a doll family/ part of Tasha's doll collection. This was made by Tasha Tudor for the Lightner family, addressed and embellished and a wax stamp on the envelope, as well as the sparrow's prints from holding it to deliver. The art is of Mrs. Shakespeare feeding some birds, surrounded by a lovely arbor with vines. Tasha is well known for her love of miniature mail and this is an example of that. VG condition. There is no date on this but Tasha created Sparrow Post in the 1950s for her children and later for grandchildren. Tasha called Mary Lightner her "Ohio daughter" and appointed her as postmistress for the Ohio Sparrow Post. This item was purchased directly from the Lightner family in 2000. John Lightner dated this in 1950s.This will ship priority mail insured.
