Description: Tascam 234 Syncaset 4 Track Cassette Recorder This unit is functional and has had all its rubber replaced a few years ago. The cassette mechanism was recalibrated around that time for proper playback and recording speed as well. The power supply was also partially redone and a set of jacks were replaced on the back of unit as they were originally damaged when the unit was purchased (Line In/Out on Channels 1 and 2) however they function just like factory. Issues with this unit are only minor and mostly cosmetic. The bulb behind the cassette mechanism is burned out and would need to be replaced. The individual channel amplifiers could use a recalibration however this can easily be adjusted for with the controls on the unit to achieve proper levels and is a very minor issue. The pots are a tad scratchy and could use a light cleaning. The headphone output knob is missing its green cap, this is purely cosmetic. The casing on this unit shows quite a bit of wear and scratches. This is not a show piece unit, but it is a functional unit that most definitely gets that classic Tascam sound. As stated earlier in the listing this is a functional unit and is ready to get to work in your studio, however given it is a 40 year old cassette deck this is being sold AS-IS. No returns or refunds.
