The aperture blades will engage if the lever on the rear of the lens is moved, but it does NOT spring back. The glass is clean, but there is some internal dust. Does NOT come with end caps. This lens does not have a built in motor and will NOT autofocus with some Nikon DSLRs (Nikon D40, D40X, D60, D3000, D3100, D3200, D5000, D5100, and D5200 digital cameras are some).
