Description: TamaSuperstar Cherry Wine drum kit set inspired by Neil Peart Rush Zildjian cymbalsand hardware included. This kitis my baby that I assembled from about 1986 – 1991 and have lovingly cared forever since. I am the original owner ofevery drum here except for the bass drum which was purchased used in about1991. Oh, and the Slingerland snare thatwas acquired later but more on that in a bit. Otherwise, every drum waspurchased and/or sourced new through Atlanta Pro Percussion and representshours and hours of lawn-mowing, leaf-raking sprinkled with a few birthday presentsand surprisingly little begging. First, Iknow all about Candy Apple Red and not Cherry Wine and all the other nuances soRush geeks (like myself) do not need to tell me that this is not what Neil used. I know. I know all about it. This is the best that a teen could assemble withlawn mowing money in the mid to late 80’s. I liked the Cherry Wine better anyway…. I have spent about 80-100hours cleaning and restoring this kit over the past few years includingremoving every screw of anything affixed to a shell and have cleaned out each screwthread and re-lubricated with lithium grease. Each mounting bracket, lug, rim, etc. has been cleaned and polished andeach shell has been cleaned and polished thoroughly. Cymbals: They haveall been polished and well-maintained over the years. If you prefer the aged patina look, give it alittle time, a little sweat, splash some beer on them, consider vomiting onthem from time to time and never forget the benefits of some drunk guy peeingon them. That’s a joke. The vomit and urine never happened but they’vebeen splashed with beer on more than one occasion. Some of the cymbals were acquired new andsome used but they’re all in good shape with no cracking or keyholing. Hardware: Everythinghas been cleaned, polished, buffed where appropriate and certainly inspectedand everything is quite solid but there is some pitting and rush here and therebut very minor. This kitis going to be sold intact so I am not willing, not yet anyway, to break it up.So this is for the Rush guy who knows that the Tama era (both mahogany and red)was the best era… Chromey was pretty awesome too. Ludwig ok… and I guess the DW years arepretty incredible. But the TAMAs werethe coolest in my opinion so this kit could be the one for YOU. The toms are powerful and the concert toms soundjust like those bits in Red Lenses and the closing fills of Grand Designs andthe bridge in Territories so you can close your eyes and put yourself right inthe mix with the guys. These drums are, in fact, listed elsewhere so I can't sell them twice. As soon as it is sold, these drums will no longer be for sale anywhere.
