This oval-shaped wall plaque depicts an amazing array of native Australian Wildlife rendered in relief. A mother and baby koala along with a possum nestle into the branches of a gumtree which grows beneath a beaming hot Australian sun. Two kangaroos, one with a joey in its pouch, along with an emu, goanna and echidna feature beneath the gumtree. A delightful platypus basks upon rocks within a creek which appears at the base of the tree, while a kookaburra laughs upon a branch to the right. This beautifully designed piece is perfectly balanced with mountains, grasses and trees wonderfully balancing the finely detailed design. This piece is finished in an earthy matte rust oxide coloured glaze, with darker shadows and paler highlights adding an appealing depth to the exceptionally fine detail. The fabulous rust glaze is so quintessentially Australian, perfectly capturing the spirit of our fine sunburnt country.
