Description: Stanley No. 5 Jack Plane Type 16 1933-41 Smooth Bottom Very good condition Stanley No. 5 Jack Plane. There is a 3/16" hole drilled through the sole behind the tote, presumably for hanging. There is a nick on the edge of the sole in front of the throat. The knob and tote are in good condition and fit tight. The bolt that holds the tote has a slight bend but still holds the tote tight. There are also rust areas on the iron and cap iron . The plane has several small nicks, chips, scratches and other marks from over 80 years of use. The plane needs to be sharpened and tuned before use. Approx.
