This Sports Impressions figurine of Mel Ott is considered one of the top two most difficult to find figurines in this set. Jimmie Foxx is the other. It was released in 1991, and is part of their extremely popular 500HR Figurine collection. These 500HR Club figurines are getting exceedingly harder to find, especially the later issued ones. This Mel Ott figurine is the 9th figurine released in the set. This is the larger 8"-9" bisque porcelain figurine, not the miniature figurine that was produced later. This is piece number 0149. The stated edition size is 1008. It is unlikely that the entire amount was ever completed, as the figurine market began to go pretty soft during this time. This figurine comes with the original box, styrofoam insert, and the wooden base. It does not come with the Certificate of Authenticity. Both the box and insert show some normal wear and tear from the years. This figurine has looks like it just came from Sports Impressions yesterday.
