Description: Designed by Zeiss, this was the best of the first-generation Sony zooms. An excellent lens, its optical performance is almost on par with the much more expensive Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM that I am now using for its wider aperture. It is smaller and lighter, making it great for travel and hiking. The lens works perfectly, but the wear is more than average. Multiple hairline scratches on the front element: the two largest ones are 3mm and 2mm, others less than 1mm. They did not affect optical performance. Multiple scratches/wear marks on the barrel (its curled metal finish was easier to scratch than current plastic housings). Like for most of my lenses, this particular lens has been handpicked out of 3 samples after rigorous automated optical testing. Checked and cleaned by Sony Imaging Pro Support in Feb 2024. Includes original box, lens hood, rear cap, and non-Sony front cap. Returns accepted (buyer pays shipping), 14-day inspection period. NOTE: There is a glitch on eBay that prevents it from accepting my change to "Returns accepted" (any hints on how to fix that appreciated) but I will definitively honor return requests.
