History, features, and assessment of a Chatham County copper mine, worked since its discovery in the late 1850s, concluding that the 395 acre property would be well-worth further development, the report prepared for its owner, J. N. Gorman of the Virginia M. & M. Co. of Richmond, Virginia. Laid in is a carbon copy of a further report on the mine, a 2-page letter, also unsigned, sent six months later in October, 1901. Cf. H.M.
