Description: Vintage letterpress Printer's block. Pretty sure this was an editorial cartoon for a newspaper or magazine. The fuse is lit. If the first cannon ball doesn't do the trick they have a pile in ready. The dog is looking to the side. . .at the crowd watching perhaps? (SEE PHOTOS). Although this block was with several from a print shop, it has been modified to be a wall hanging. The hook is attached to the back of the block with a single tack. Block measures about 5 12" wide x 6 5/8". It is standard "type high" or .918". The plate is about 1/16" thick. The block came from a print shop in Baltimore, MD (E.B.Read). Sorry for our photos.
