Description: The Sheaffer plunger/vacuum ink filling system was produced by Sheaffer during the 30s and 40s up until it was replaced by the Touchdown filling system in 1949. This is probably my favorite ink filling system as it holds a large amount of ink in the barrel yet doesn’t have many of the drawbacks that something like Parker’s Vacumatic system has when trying to clean it. The drawback that it does have is that it is often difficult to restore properly, but once restored with modern materials it will last for a very long time.In 1937, Sheaffer introduced a new model pen with a solid metal cap and a plastic body. This pen was later to be known as the Crest. It was a top of the line model, and certainly merited the White Dot and the Lifetime guarantee. Mounting the dot to the cap became a problem for Sheaffer, which apparently could not be solved to the company's satisfaction. The pen will most likely will need to be rebuilt.(see Photos for condition) It has a gold-filled case and 14 k nib.ALWAYS FREE SHIPPING!
