Description: An SGC graded EX 5 - 1948/49 Leaf rookie card of Roy Smalley of the Chicago Cubs. This example has no creasing, bold printing, nice focus, good registration, excellent color and bright borders. The corners are consistent with those found on most NM/NM+ examples. The printing on the front is shifted to the left, but the card still displays well. There is a light amount of print snow in the black background to the left of the player, but it does not detract too much from the overall eye appeal of the card. There is some light toning on the front (not uncommon for cards from this issue), but the card still displays well. The back appears to have a very light amount of wax residue in a few places (from the original wax wrapper), but otherwise the back is clean with bold printing. Even with the flaws, this is still a very sharp looking card for the grade.
