Description: Up for sale is a rare set of five large agate-tipped burnishing tools by Chase Brothers of Haverhill, MA. Each burnisher is about 14" - 15" long. The original finish is intact on all five tools. One burnisher looks to have had its stone replaced, with the new stone being glued in place. The middle tool has a small chip on the rounded end of the handle (see 2nd to last photo). Excellent condition overall. Chase Brothers were merchants and manufacturers of printing and bookbinding tools and supplies. See the last photo for a historic photograph of their storefront.
