Description: Schumann Bavaria Empress Dresden Flowers Teapot Dresdner Art Smooth This teapot and lid, produced by Schumann of Germany, will work with their Empress Dresden Flowers and Dresdner Art patterns. Both have the same Dresden flower motif and embossed lattice design on the rim, but the Dresdner Art pattern has a smooth edge, whereas the Empress Dresden Flowers pattern has a scalloped edge. This teapot is smooth around the opening. Teapots for this pattern were made in many variations. This one has a round, flat aspect (no neck), a simple handle, a flat base, and a gold trim line at the bottom. It has an interior strainer. 6” total height with lid in place, 4-1/2” at rim, about 6” at widest point, 9-1/2” spout to handle. Condition: Minor wear to the gold trim at the base of the handle. Several small marks on the outside. There is a dark spot near the opening of the spout and a couple more inside. Some gray smudges on the unglazed edge of the inner rim of the lid. There is a small bit of gold missing from the tip of the finial. The finial has a seam. It is too “precise” to be a repaired break and matches one on the lid of the sugar bowl I have in a separate listing.Be sure to check all shipping options.
